Claude-Paul Lafrance

Mr. Claude-Paul Lafrance obtained a Masters degree in Chemistry from Laval University in Quebec City in 1985.  He then worked as a research professional on different projects, first in photocatalysis and then in the field of molecular orientation in polymers and lipid bilayers. Most of this early work was conducted using X-ray diffraction and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. Since 1996, he has been professor of chemistry at the Cegep de Levis-Lauzon, a college, where he teaches mainly instrumental analysis to future technicians in biotechnology and analytical chemistry. In 1999, he began to divide his time between teaching and research at TransBIOTech, an applied research center in biotechnology affiliated with the college.

For the ten last years he has been focusing on developing analytical methods coupling ultraperformance liquid chromatography with triple quadrupole mass spectrometry and high resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometry.
